Charming Chai - Organic Matcha Latte Blend with Chai Spices

The best of two worlds: the fusion of stimulating Japanese Matcha and spicy Indian Chai. Fine mulberry leaf powder gives the Matcha Charming Chai a pleasant natural sweetness.

The KEIKO Blends

Thats true Japanese Matcha refined with high quality, natural ingredients. They are free of unnecessary additives or fillers and contain no milk powder or sugar. The blends can be prepared pure with hot water and/or with frothed, hot milk, (we recommend oat or rice-almond drink!) or used in desserts, shakes and sweets - refreshing new flavours and the bright green colour make your creations an eye-catcher and a culinary delight!

To avoid lumps, we recommend mixing the powder with very little water first to form a thick mash and add the remaining liquid afterwards. You can find recipe ideas at: www.keiko.de/recipes

Storage

In order to preserve the precious flavours and ingredients of the powder in the best possible way, we recommend to seal the bag well and store it in a cool and dark place, ideally in your refridgerator or freezer.

Matcha preparation

Prepare

Sift approx. 1–2 g of matcha (½–1 bamboo scoop) through a fine sieve into a dry matcha bowl to avoid lumps.
Whisk

Whisk

Pour about 70–80 ml of water at 70–80 °C over it and whisk the matcha into a froth with a bamboo whisk (chasen) in brisk W-shaped movements.

Enjoy

Enjoy the matcha immediately while it is creamy and frothy. For a matcha latte, top up with warm milk.

Sooo lecker!

Der Chai ist unglaublich lecker und sein Geld wert. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist die lange Lieferzeit.

Our feedback: Es freut uns, dass dir der Matcha Charming Chai so gut gefällt! Aktuell haben wir hier aufgrund der enormen Nachfrage und den daraus resultierenden Engpässen eine absolute Ausnahmesituation und sind froh, die Lieferfähigkeit mit den Wartezeiten überhaupt weitestgehend aufrecht erhalten zu können. Wir hoffen, dass sich die Situation bald wieder entspannt und die Lieferzeiten wieder auf die üblichen 2-3 Tage schrumpft. In der Zwischenzeit versuchen wir schon beim Kauf transparent auf die Verzögerungen hinzuweisen, um Enttäuschung wegen Verspätungen zu vermeiden.

Einfach himmlisch

Auf einen kleinen Teelöffel Honig habe ich einen Tropfen bulgarische Rose (naturreines, Aromaöl 2%, z.B. Taoasis) gegeben und mit einer handvoll Himbeeren püriert. Matcha Charming Chai mit Mandelmilch ordentlich aufgeschäumt und über die Himbeermasse aufgegossen. Anschließend fand ich mich im 7.Himmel wieder. Einfach himmlisch!

harmonisch - Gewürze könnten stärker sein

Ich bin nicht der riesige Experte. Habe bisher ca. drei Matchas getestet. Dieser ist für mich am harmonischsten. Die Chai Gewürze würde ich mir noch stärker wünschen.

The classic among the Matcha whisks (Chasen) in size 80.  The handcrafted bamboo Matcha whisks are essential for creating the fine foam-top on your Matcha and making sure the powder dissolves without leaving lumps or a grainy texture. The finer the prongs of the whisk (indicated by a larger size) the better the results. For the easy preparation at home we recommend to first add only a small amount of water to the Matcha Powder and use the whisk to blend it to a smooth paste. Then add the rest of the water and whisk it up painting an M with the whisk with quick movements from the wrist.  Matcha whisks are made from bamboo-sticks that are cut into fine prongs at the top and then bent into shape. The thicker/sturdier the bamboo and the higher the quality, the more prongs can be made, which is reflected in the different sizes (i.e. 80, 100, 120). Although the numbers traditionally refer to the amount of prongs, the width of the bamboo and the fineness of the prongs are actually more relevant to the size indications. You will notice that especially Usucha is easier to whisk up with a larger whisk. When a smaller Matcha bowl is used however, a slender whisk is more suitable.TIP: Use a Matcha whisk stand to keep your whisk in shape longer!
