Die Matchabesen (Jap. Chasen) werden von Hand aus Bambus hergestellt. Je dicker der verwendete Bambus ist, desto mehr Rippchen können geformt werden. So entstehen die verschiedenen Größen (80, 100, 120). Beim Aufschäumen werden Sie feststellen, dass der Tee sich mit den größeren Besen leichter aufschlagen lässt und der Schaum feiner wird. Für kleinere Matchaschalen hingegen eignet sich besonders ein langer schmaler Besen.
